Teknion picks up pair of Best of NeoCon Awards in Chicago
Teknion Corporation today announced that a pair of its new products won three awards at NeoCon, North America’s most important commercial design show held annually in Chicago. Cerebro, a new workplace technology concept, received an Innovation Award in the Technology-Integrated Solutions category of the Best of NeoCon Awards. Teknion’s tn Storage & Accessories Collection designed by Toan Nguyen was awarded a Best of NeoCon Silver in the Office Accessories category. tn was also named Winner of the Accessories category in the HiP Awards sponsored by Interior Design magazine.
“It’s quite an honour for Teknion’s Cerebro to earn one of only eight Innovation awards handed out by the Best of NeoCon Competition jury, and for tn Storage & Accessories to receive a pair of awards at NeoCon,” said Joe Regan, Senior VP, Design and Corporate Marketing. “These awards speak to the design leadership and innovation capabilities of Toan Nguyen and our own design studio.”
Cerebro creates a new ergonomic experience, connecting and maintaining comfortable lighting and monitor height with sit/stand desking in seated and standing postures. It passively connects and maintains comfortable lighting levels and monitor eye heights when using three integrated workplace products – a Navigate electric height-adjustable table, Sanna Lightbar IC (Integrated Cerebro) task light and Swerv Monitor Arm IC. Cerebro assimilates the abilities of these products to provide visual comfort and create a new ergonomic experience.
tn Storage & Accessories addresses new needs for personal storage and organization in the modern workstation. The need for storage within the workstation has changed over the past decade as the type of storage has shifted from paper filing to personal items and casual use. The traditional pedestal or lateral filing cabinet has become a place for personal items and open organization. tn is a series of universal desktop accessories and freestanding storage items that addresses these new needs for storage and organization in today’s workstation. The collection provides new and unique ways to solve a common, everyday problem.
Winners of the 2018 Best of NeoCon Competition were announced on Monday, June 11, during an awards breakfast in Chicago. Eighty-one awards were distributed in this year’s competition of contract furnishing products, including eight Innovation Awards. The Best of NeoCon Competition is sponsored by Contract magazine, NeoCon and The McMorrow Reports.
