Cover Girls: Women in architecture exhibit opens in Winnipeg
Curated by the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation, the upcoming Cover Girls: Women, Advertising, and Architecture exhibit explores the ways women were depicted in advertisements that appeared in Canadian architectural magazines and journals published between 1950 and 1975. By examining the representation (and omission) of women in these advertisements, we can better understand how the architectural profession perceived women.

Opened on July 6, Cover Girls: Women, Advertising, and Architecture will run until July 31. Held at 266 McDermot Avenue, the Summer exhibit will be open each week from 9:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday.
More information about the upcoming exhibition — and other architectural events and exhibitions on throughout the year — is available via the Winnipeg Architecture Foundation’s events website, linked here. Support for this exhibition has been generously provided by Young Canada Works.
