“Design is inherently about the future, tackling problems to come. Since 1938, we’ve pioneered how people interact with their environments. IDC’s inaugural design symposium, The Value of Design Thinking, considers design thinking and sustainability to solve today’s problems and push boundaries,” says Susan Somers, Vice President Knoll Canada.

Held at the Toronto Marriott Downtown Eaton Centre Hotel from September 16-19, the three-day event promises to bring together thought leaders, subject experts and game changers from the wider design, business and media community to highlight the crucial role of design in shaping a productive, healthy and inclusive society.

Over three thought-provoking days, the program is “aiming to expand your horizons, as well as your network and skills base through a program of in-depth education, expert panel discussions, guided design tours, awards galas and breakfasts, emerging professionals programs and provocative conference keynotes,” the IDC website explains.

Also set to be presented at this year’s inaugural Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) national conference in Toronto, the new PROpel interactive national design competition provides an opportunity for emerging professionals to engagement in discussions and connections with influential representatives in the interior design community.

The 2018 Value of Design Thinking National Conference will feature a combination of professional training events, seminars and breakout sessions (targeting multiple education levels), cross-disciplinary panel discussions, and walking / showroom tours, as well as a gala and an awards presentation. The daily sessions will run from approximately 8 am to 5 pm, with a full itinerary for the three-day event now available via the IDC’s official website, linked here.
