Cosentino Group, global leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of design and architecture, presents the 13th edition of the international Cosentino Design Challenge (CDC). The competition seeks to promote the talent and creativity of future international architecture and design professionals.
Cosentino is calling for Canadian entries for the CDC, which encourages students from all over the world enrolled in the 2018-2019 academic school year in any architecture or design program, to create sustainable and innovative project concepts that boast outstanding conceptual and technical quality. Comprised of two categories, Architecture and Design, students are asked to place an emphasis on creativity with their submissions.
The Architecture brief asks students to reflect on “Cosentino and water”, and the Design brief is focused on “Cosentino and energy”. In both categories, participants have complete freedom in developing their final project concept, which must incorporate one or more products manufactured by Cosentino including Silestone natural quartz surface, Dekton ultra-compact surface, and Sensa protected natural stone.
The project concept submission period opened on October 1, 2018 and closes on June 1, 2019. All projects must be submitted in digital format via the competition website www.cosentinodesignchallenge.org. The judging panel will announce the winning projects in June 2019. For each category, the following prizes will be awarded: one first prize, one second prize, one third prize, and special mentions. The first three winners will be awarded the equivalent of €1,000 each in the currency of the country where a student is awarded. Winners will also receive special mentions and global recognition.
Throughout the competition, students are encouraged to visit Cosentino Showrooms to discover the company’s wide range of innovative products. Cosentino has four showrooms countrywide located in Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver.
