ASID’s SCALE design student summit comes to NYC in March

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will host the SCALE Student Summit in New York City on March 1-3, 2019. SCALE is designed for interior design students and educators who believe that design impacts lives. By attending SCALE, students will be prepared to take on their first professional roles, and educators will explore relevant topics and resources to augment their curricula. Students studying other built environment professions such as architecture, landscape architecture, and urban planning will also benefit from the SCALE experience.ASID, SCALE

An industry-leading collection of speakers will share their personal success stories and help students bridge the gap between education and professional practice, preparing them to start their careers from a position of strength and confidence.

Attendees will also shape their SCALE experience by choosing from breakout seminars that focus on four key content themes that are relevant to all practice areas of interior design, including the Impact of Design, Business of Design, Leadership Development, and Practice of Design.

In addition to the rich variety of educational sessions and presentations, a number of tours are offered during the three-day event — including an inside look at the Delos HQ, overlooking the iconic High Line.

Open throughout SCALE, the Learning Lounge is a flexible space ideal for connecting with sponsors and professionals, catching up with peers, and continuing conversations with speakers. Take the opportunity to learn about new products and services from leading companies in the industry. The space will also be used for professional development resources. Check back soon for more details.

Ready for an internship or entry-level position? If so, come dressed in your best professional attire and bring resumes, portfolios, and business cards to the ASID National Student Career Fair on Friday, March 1, 2019 at SCALE. The ASID National Student Career Fair offers one-on-one opportunities for students and recent graduates to meet with potential employers and to interview for several positions during the course of the afternoon.
