Caesarstone announces collaboration with Dutch designer Marije Vogelzang
Luxury quartz brand Caesarstone announces its collaboration with award-winning Dutch designer Marije Vogelzang for their 2019 Designer Program. This year, Caesarstone dives deep into the thoughtfulness of design, food production and consumption, and how it translates into human connection. The first installation will debut at the Interior Design Show (IDS) 2019 in Toronto, bringing experiential and sensory implications to the forefront of the design packed exhibition.
The 2019 collaboration will focus on the thoughtfulness we should have in our kitchens, whether in meal preparation or conversation shared with guests. This will be represented through the journey of the seed. The installation will take visitors on a sensory experience through memories, human connection, happiness, and the environment. The honeycomb-like exhibit will focus on generating stimulation from all sensory receptors as visitors travel their path eliminating external noise and disruption and imagining themselves as a seed and connecting back to the earth.
“In this rushed and digital time, food can be our connector, trough the senses to the essence of what life is. Emotion, connection and wonder. My collaboration with Caesarstone will highlight the interactive aspect food design provides,” said Vogelzang.
“This collaboration will see Marije Vogelzang’s distinct point-of-view of the intersection of food, thoughtfulness, and design, breaking down the functions in the kitchen into powerful forms and ideas, which define human connections,” added Elizabeth Margles, VP of Marketing at Caesarstone.
Over the years, Caesarstone’s Designer Collaboration Program has continuously pushed the boundaries of experiential design with work from Snarkitecture, Jaime Hayon, Tom Dixon and more. Each designer collaboration has offered a forward-thinking take on the versatile material. This year’s collaboration will showcase Caesarstone surfaces through interactive activations and practical kitchen implications immersing visitors in the application of the Caesarstone surface.
