Located on the 12th floor of the Globe and Mail Centre, KPMB Architects’ modern makeover infused the warmth of its previous timber loft studios, formerly on King Street West, into a glossy new office.
The panoramic view of the city and Lake Ontario was the inspiration behind the plan of a continuous, and fully accessible perimeter.
A wood-lined pavilion accommodates the communal space of meetings with four open work zones circling the central timber-lined core.
The sleek renovation is illuminated with White Oak, exposed concrete, sustainable carpet tiles and soft project pin-up surfaces made from recycled plastic. KPMB’s combination of a minimal palette and glass walls gives the space a raw yet sophisticated edge.
