Ceramics of Italy Releases Spring/Summer Tile Trends
Opulent designs, inlaid wood and skinny formats are the interior design trends Ceramics of Italy has announced for the spring-summer season.
After reviewing products from Italian tile producers at Coverings in Orlando, and ICFF in New York, the following six themes demonstrate the expanding versatility of ceramic tile, according to Ceramics of Italy.
Skinny Formats
Although some designers prefer large format tiles to minimize grout lines and produce a seamless surface, skinny format tiles emphasize the shape while creating a playful composition.
Inlaid Wood
Inlay’s popular decoration technique has “graced the floors and furniture of wealthy estates for centuries”. With advanced digital printing technology, more interior design enthusiasts have access to inlaid wood and parquet flooring.
Humble Materials
Ceramics of Italy suggests ceramic tile is a humble material that is created from the earth, and can also be returned to earth at the end of its life. With these collections, Italian companies pay homage to the imperfect components found in nature.
Opulence
From rare marble to high gloss ceramic, the Opulence collections add a touch of glamour while maintaining the functional benefits of ceramic and porcelain.
Muted Colours
The muted trend of pale pink and sage green allows for designers to apply a variety of hues to a space.
Lines
Lines have the ability to generate movement, add height, and establish visual interest to a room. Ceramics of Italy states, “Companies are using this essential element to create striped patterns, metallic inserts, linear mosaics and more.”
