In celebration of Union Wood Co.’s 10th anniversary, the Vancouver-based company is commemorating their decade of long-lasting furniture with the launch of a new collection for commercial environments, and a return to the 2019 Interior Design Show (IDS) in Vancouver.
“When you make something for a workplace or commercial environment, it gets used– that’s the best part of it. People toile at it, people accomplish tasks and overcome fears at it, people laugh and gossip and brainstorm, share stories and experience comradery at tables. We love being a part of that,” says Craig Pearce, Founder and Creative Director of Union Wood Co.
Union Wood Co.’s custom IDS Vancouver booth will feature their new Column conference table from the fall collection. The booth highlights the inviting, communal effect of the piece while connecting to the material’s roots by adding seating atop a rugged log.
Other pieces in Union Wood Co.’s fall offerings include a rounded side-table, a lightweight stool, a minimalist leaning cabinet, and a set of multifunctional pingpong tables.
COLUMN CONFERENCE TABLE
The Column showcases Union Wood Co.’s ability to create maximum impact with minimal materials. The round columns emanate softness, and the clean circular lines of the tabletop invite collaboration and meetings of all sizes. Column is available in seven finishes, (Natural Ash, White- washed Ash, Blackened Ash, Natural Oak, Whitewashed Oak, Oxidized Oak, Natural Walnut) while the base can be finished in four metal coats, or painted any custom colour. The top can also be customized, choosing from a barrel, racetrack, or circle shape.
RADIUS SIDE TABLE
The Radius side table is a mini version of the Radius conference table. The taller iteration stands at 20 inches, with a diameter of 14”, where the shorter version comes up to 14” and reaches 24” wide. Both are available in six finishes (Natural Ash, Whitewashed Ash, Blackened Ash, Natural Oak, Whitewashed Oak, Oxidized Oak) and have a solid North American hardwood top with a tambour-wrapped base.
NO. 5 STOOL
This scratch-resistant, easy-grip stool comes in three sizes finished in Natural Ash, Whitewashed Ash, Blackened Ash, Natural Oak, Whitewashed Oak, and Oxidized Oak. The No.5 stool’s metal frame can also be completed in Matte Black, White, and Charcoal Grey.
PING PONG TABLE
This modern take on the classic game comes as a follow-up to Union Wood’s shuffleboard pieces. The minimalist iteration can be easily transformed from a conference table into a gaming table. The custom ping pong table has a solid North American hardwood top, and is supported by a geometric steel frame that comes in Union Wood Co’s standard finishes or custom colours.
FOLSOM CABINET
This open and closed storage offers the opportunity for both a deeply personal touch and tidy cache behind flush touch-latch doors, with adjustable interior cabinet shelves. The Folsom comes in Natural Ash, Whitewashed Ash, Blackened Ash, Natural Oak, Whitewashed Oak, Oxidized Oak, Natural Walnut, and is fully customizable in size and shelving.
Union Wood Co.’s products are built-to-order in their Vancouver workshop, which is accessible to the public.
