Studio TK Introduces Geoffrey Harcourt’s F500 Series

British designer Geoffrey Harcourt’s visionary design of the F500 Series of seating was inspired by his girlfriend at the time, who liked to curl up in a cross-legged position.
Fascinated by this very feminine attitude, Harcourt’s F500 Series has all the comfort of an easy chair, and is wide enough to meet this unusual seating area.
The shell has a suitable amount of space to curl up in and is the paragon of Harcourt’s philosophy that the chair should focus on the person.

After designing his first series of small office fauteuils for Artifort in 1962, Harcourt’s classic silhouettes brought the furniture manufacturer to the international market for contract design.
Recently, Studio TK has launched three F500 Series swivel armchairs – the F510, F585 and F588. The quintessential armchair with striking upholstery was designed by Harcourt in 1967.

“Last year we announced a new product partnership with Artifort to manufacture and distribute the renowned Dutch company’s chairs, tables and sofas in North America,” said Charlie Bell, President, Studio TK. “These three classic F500 Series armchairs represent the latest Artifort furnishings that Studio TK is offering. Producing the products in our Clayton, North Carolina, facility provides customers with shorter lead times.”
The F510, F585 and F588 swivel armchairs, with trumpet bases, informed by a shell-shaped template, were previewed at NeoCon 2019.
Three upholstery styles make the chair highly configurable and distinct. A fixed upholstery has clean stylings for corporate interiors, a welted version adds aspects of home while the tufted button version is an emblematic statement piece. Each model is available with a painted disc base in 16 colours.
