Call for Submissions: GANDIABLASCO International Competition for Outdoor Furniture Design

GANDIABLASCO has convened its 14th annual International Competition for Outdoor Furniture Design with a theme that calls for designing an outdoor lamp.

A new challenge to be done, this contest is open to students and young design professionals, between the ages of 18 and 35 years. Participants may submit their projects either individually or collectively by April 16th, 2020.

The competition’s jury includes José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales, the president and creative director of Gandia Blasco S.; Julian Molins, art critic and exhibition curator; Marcelo Ghio, Director of Content Strategy and Editorial of the Experimenta magazine; and Helena Rohner, jewellery designer at the Helena Rohner studio.

The judges will analyze each of the presented projects, taking into account aspects such as: creativity and the capacity for innovation, the functionality of the design and its capacity for integration in an outdoor space.

They will also be in charge of resolving any doubts or aspects that are not covered by the competition throughout the participation period.

In any event, the basic requirements of the submitted proposals will be as followed: projects must be unpublished proposals and must have not been submitted to any other contests or previously published. Each submission should be reproducible on an industrial scale, and the use of any plastic material other than 100 per cent recyclable is banned.

Of the pieces presented, there will be two monetary prizes of 2,000(€) and 1,000(€) awarded for first and second prize, as well as an honourable mention from GANDIABLASCO.
