Despite high registration levels in the Spring of this year and extensive preparations, Orgatec 2020 is cancelled and will take place again from October 25-29, 2022.
According to the fair organizers, the event cancellation is due to the current COVID situation’s health, safety, economic and travel concerns among many of its registered exhibitors and visitors.
In light of this, Koelnmesse reassessed the overall situation and decided that it was best to respond to the cancellations and wishes of a large number of industry exhibitors and trade visitors by not implementing Orgatec 2020.
“As the health and safety of our customers is of outmost importance to us, we reassessed the overall situation and made the decision to respond to the wishes of the majority of our exhibitors and visitors not to go forward with Orgatec 2020. This was a very difficult decision for us since we were fully prepared to conduct this event under well thought out and renewed safety standards,” says the organizers in a recent release.
The Orgatec organizers state that they do not want to be discouraged by this setback and immediately set their sights back on the future. Together with all of the trade fair participants in the sector, Koelnmesse is joining the industry in search of solutions to present the topics of Orgatec at an international level in the coming months.
This setback has also developed a new business platform for the fair’s exhibitors at imm cologne 2021. The organizers created this opportunity for companies who cater to the contract and residential furnishing industries. The event is set to take place from January 18-24, 2021.
