The ASID Foundation announces a program for funding research projects

The ASID Foundation is funding a program for research projects that result in actionable design principles, guidelines, and/or tools that designers can apply in their design projects.

Three research grants will be awarded. One project is worth up to $20,000 and two projects will amount up to $10,000 each. Completed research projects are to be developed into an educational resource that will be shared with the design community.

The ASID Foundation research committee prioritized three topics of interest:

  • Topic #1: Design Equity, Social Justice & Inclusion
  • Topic #2: Adaptive Environments Designed for Change/Human Resilience
  • Topic #3: Physical Proximity for Enhanced Organizational Outcomes

The application period for the ASID Foundation Research Grants will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2020.

Proposed research projects should address critical gaps and/or necessary future advances within these topic areas. They should additionally examine ways to demonstrate the impact of interior design and ensure design can be accessed/applied for the benefit of improving people’s lives.
