Vancouver-based brand introduces the Circus Wood collection
Vancouver-based design studio and furniture company, EDITS, presents the Circus Wood collection: a contemporary ‘edit’ of the archetypal Scandinavian wood chair.
Showcased in Belgium during the Please Have A Seat show, the collection is an outcome of three years of design, research, and development. With a solid-wood frame and plywood seat and backrest, Circus Wood is the synthesis of three inventive wood construction details that create a unique structure and design language.
Keeping sustainability in mind, the European Ash used comes from FSC-certified sustainably managed forests in Eastern Europe, all lacquers and glues give no VOC emissions and are entirely non-toxic to human health, and the collection is BIFMA compliant, according to the company.
Each chair is available in natural-white or contemporary lacquered colours: “the characteristic legs symmetrically direct the lines of force supporting the occupant, with the curved backrest offering a generous embrace and arm support, smooth edges provide unexpected softness and tactility, while upholstered seat pads can be added as a further option for comfort and colour,” says EDITS.
