Roche Bobois collaborates with Kenzo Takada and Missoni Home
Contemporary home furniture chain, Roche Bobois, is bringing haute couture à la maison through partnerships with some of the most well-known names in the fashion industry.
Launched in 2021, Japanese fashion designer Kenzo Takada wove his craft in a collection of fabrics and ceramics for the French furniture house. The Mah Jong Umi Composition designed by Hans Hopfer and fabrics designed by Kenzo Takada ,unfurls a medley of shades evoking the ocean, a stormy sky, or Mediterranean seas. The modular sofa blends multiple floral and geometric designs with a variety of textures and materials.
The collection also includes the Daria Shima cushion, the Yashi-Shoru textile, and the Hanazakari and Haru vase. The red clay vase, turned and decorated by hand, is adorned with a lid’s knob made of multiple earthenware doves assembled by hand.
Roche Bobois and Missoni Home’s collaboration in 2021 stayed true to the Italian fashion house’s style. The pieces, which include a fabric design for the Mah Jong lounge chairs, the Albufeira cushion, Antrim rug, and Almada ottoman, combine elaborate materials and colours. Jacquards, impressionist motifs, floral designs and semi-plain fabrics with tiny chevrons bounce off each other. The Mah Jong is upholstered in Missoni Home fabrics and set on stained wood bases with a Chestnut finish. Platforms available in lacquered & wood finishes.
