RainStick wins the Studio North’s Best Collection Award

Canadian clean technology company RainStick Shower received Studio North’s Best Collection Award during the 2022 Toronto Interior Design Show (IDS).
A panel of judges selected the RainStick out of eight different brands who participated in the Studio North feature area, which highlighted independent product designers, exhibiting custom work and limited-edition collections.

“We had an extremely successful show at IDS Toronto with tons of interest from designers and consumer attendees,” said Alisha McFetridge, CEO & Co-founder of RainStick Shower. “We’ve been on a roll with wins at this year’s CES and KBIS but winning on Canadian soil was a special milestone for us. Our team is very proud to have won this award at Canada’s premier design show.”

Launched earlier this year, Rainstick is a circular shower technology that saves 80 percent water and up to 80 percent energy while maintaining almost twice the flow rate compared to a traditional low-flow shower. The unit starts with fresh grid-supplied water; however, instead of going down the drain, RainStick uses proprietary recirculation technology to capture, circulate, and clean the water, all in real-time to avoid waste. Its three-stage process removes hair and debris, disinfects water, and kills bacteria and viruses through long-life UV-LED technology. Users can also download the RainStick App on their smartphone to instantaneously see environmental insights, allowing them to track their water usage and energy savings.

“Designers and specifiers alike are excited about a product that offers 80 percent water savings without sacrificing experience, all with a design-forward aesthetic. We already have several projects where the units have been specified. The consumer crowd expressed interest in installing RainStick in outdoor areas and cottage country environments,” explained McFetridge. “We’re proud of our story and what we have accomplished. We’re a Canadian couple who developed a highly sustainable shower during the pandemic that performs incredibly well and looks amazing in any bathroom space indoors or outdoors!”

Coming off the heels of IDS, RainStick soft-launched their new Bathroom Pro program aimed at architects, designers, and contractors. Members will receive dedicated installation support as needed, and access to potential leads that come through the RainStick website. Once they have successfully installed a RainStick, the company will issue a badge to use on their company website for their marketing and credibility purposes.

The company has also received the Best of innovation in the Smart Home Category at CES 2022 and most recently the Best of KBIS 2022 – Impact Award and KBIS Kickstarter Award during the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in February.
