IDC to explore the legacy of design at 2022 Design Symposium
This year, Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) celebrates 50 years as the national advocacy association for interior designers in Canada.
IDC invites members and industry leaders across Canada and internationally to learn, engage, and network at the 2022 IDC Design Symposium – Legacy of Design: Past, Present, and Future, which will be held in person on Oct. 19 and 20, 2022 at Cosentino City Toronto.
The two-day event features a program of in-depth panels, inspiring keynote presentations, the PROpel Emerging Leaders program, and an award presentation, featuring the prestigious Value of Design Awards (VODA). This year we learn from the change-makers, reflect on the issues facing designers today, and seek solutions for a better future for the next generations of interior designers. Learn more.

Additionally, on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. ET, the IDC will honour interior design community members’ achievements at this year’s live, and in-person, awards celebration. Hosted at Malaparte in Toronto, the event will celebrate winners of the 2022 Value of Design Awards (VODA), recognize participants of the PROpel Emerging Leaders program, winners of the Innovation in Design Thinking Student Competition, and recipient of the Legacy Award for Distinguished Service.
IDC’s Value of Design Awards (VODA) shine a spotlight on Canadian interior designers by providing a forum to showcase the benefits of design thinking: an empathetic, inventive, and iterative process focused on the human experience within interior spaces. “These awards demonstrate the positive human and business impact of design thinking for the people and companies who hire a professional interior designer,” says the organization.
