Tacit presents a series of art exhibits at The Drake Hotel

Tacit is taking over The Drake Hotel for a series of art exhibits that will completely transform the hotel’s Modern Wing lobby, starting this April until May.

Through this series, Tacit and The Drake Hotel will amplify their connection to the artistic community and provide a platform for the artists to deepen their own connections within the arts.

Both brands share an unwavering commitment to the local arts scene. Tacit being an online gallery and art consultancy dedicated to female artists, and The Drake – a hotbed for arts and culture.

“This partnership is unique in that each artist will display their work in a non-traditional setting. Most exhibits take place in gallery spaces, with stark white walls and bright lights, whereas these shows will be in a hotel lobby with dynamic decor that is conducive to the way the art may look in someone’s home once purchased,” says Nuria Madrenas, Toronto-based artist and Tacit Founder.

Each week, the lobby will transform with a collection of work by a different artist. For each artist, this will mark their first solo show. The featured artists span across various mediums – from ceramics, to recycled materials, oil paintings, and beyond.

The artists include:

  • April 27: Anji Woodley
  • May 4: Alyssa Goodman
  • May 11: Maxine McCrann
  • May 24: Marcia Bianchi

“Tacit is always looking for new ways to amplify the artwork by our community of artists. I’ve always felt deeply inspired by The Drake’s art collection and continued commitment to supporting local artists. Given our shared appreciation for the arts, this partnership felt like a natural fit,” says Madrenas.
