According to HostMilano, the Milan-based trade fair for the Ho.Re.Ca industry, hospitality trends are making appearances in office designs.
From orchards and rooftop gardens, food outlets and cafes and relaxation and play areas that are vibrant and inviting, it’s no surprise that these spaces are being dubed more comfortable than home.
HostMilano has been closely monitoring these trends which appear to be redefining the organization and design trends of the moment.
According to HostMilano, outdated trends include plastic partition walls and neutral color schemes, relaxation areas without proper separation from meeting or work spaces, exclusionary break and refreshment areas lacking staffed kitchens and neglecting investments in quality, health, and well-being.
Current trends, on the other hand, include the adoption of environmentally friendly and eco-friendly materials, the integration of green spaces, the incorporation of sound-insulated relaxation areas, a focus on air quality by utilizing air purifiers, plants, and paints that absorb pollutants and the provision of healthy food stations.
The outdoor furniture, which serves as a hallmark of hospitality facilities, is undergoing changes as well.
Products now feature padding and upholstery made from technical fabrics, variously shaped and colored rope decorations, inserts in different materials, and high-performance paints.
However, according to HostMilano, sustainability is taking center stage. Some companies have committed to environmentally responsible manufacturing by implementing new washing facilities for their paint shops, eliminating sludge disposal, and reducing CO2 emissions. There has also been a shift away from plastics in packaging, with cardboard being preferred.
Outdoor stools, tables, and modular partitions are attractively designed, comfortable, and made from post-consumer plastics in factories that rely solely on renewable energy sources; a selection which emphasizes both aesthetic value and eco-friendly designs.
