Canadian Wool Innovation Prize returns
The Canadian Wool Innovation Prize provides recognition of innovation in the Canadian wool value chain.

The Campaign for Wool Canada / Canadian Wool Council, with support from The Worshipful Company of Woolmen, has announced that they are taking applications for the second annual Canadian Wool Innovation Prize.
The Canadian Wool Innovation Prize celebrates innovation within domestic wool value chain and connects it to the global industry. The $10,000 CAD prize, which is the largest of its kind, will be awarded to an individual or company championing creative, commercially viable uses for Canadian wool, whether in apparel, interiors, agriculture, science, or other fields.
This prize aims to serve as a bridge between the Canadian and British wool industries and honours the shared history of wool while opening new doors for collaboration.
Applications can include, but are not limited to: apparel, interior design, agriculture, horticulture, novel scientific applications, and other industrial uses.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the Canadian Wool Innovation Prize for its second year running!” said Matthew Rowe, CEO, The Canadian Wool Council. “Wool is the most incredible fibre and we’re honoured to give a boost to the innovative Canadians making the most of what it has to offer. Through this Prize, we are investing in future demand for natural, sustainable, renewable, Canadian wool.”
The Canadian Wool Innovation Prize is partly funded through the support of the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, which administers the British Innovation in Wool Awards and are the world’s oldest wool guild.
To qualify, commercially viable innovative projects or businesses must meet one or more of the following criteria. They must primarily use Canadian wool, demonstrate tangible value for Canadian wool producers, utilize Canadian or U.K. manufacturing, and/or show potential wool volume usage in the first year and plan to scale up in future years.
This year’s application deadline is October 31, 2025.
