Commercial restrooms have undergone a decisive shift since the pandemic, according to a global survey of architects, interior designers, facility managers, business owners and consumers by Excel Dryer, Inc. and MetrixLab. Nearly all design professionals reported major changes: stricter cleaning routines, surging demand for touchless features and layouts that allow more space. With North American consumers now washing their hands up to 10 times daily, the strain of paper-towel waste, labour and carbon impact has intensified. At the same time, 89 per cent of global consumers prefer touchless dryers, linking hygiene with sustainability. The findings underscore a universal truth: dirty restrooms damage brand perception, making reliable, low-waste, automated drying solutions a new baseline expectation.
Lumashelf | The Splash Lab
This fully integrated and pre-assembled handwashing system is designed for high-traffic public restrooms and features a Danish-inspired design, LEED-compliant materials, energy-efficient components, and modular construction.
