IDD Cologne 2025
For four days in October, IDD turned Cologne into a citywide celebration of interior design. The new “urban-only” format featured 106 brands at 16 locations, blending exhibitions, talks, and networking events that drew around 10,000 visitors.
The first edition of IDD Cologne brought high-quality interior design solutions to the city on the Rhine.
The event, which featured a new “urban-only” concept, took place from October 26 to 29, 2025, and brought design culture, urban flair, and interior design days to the city to celebrate its debut. In close cooperation with the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM) and leading industry partners, the event featured 106 brands at 16 locations with over 70 events, and garnered roughly 10,000 registered visitors.
The event programme featured events that combined design, architecture and urban life. The Urban Design Walks led to central venues of IDD Cologne and allowed visitors to experience current design trends. In the Architonic Talks, architecture and design experts provided insight into themes like longevity, emotional spatial impact, brand identity and material properties. The IDD Cologne Aperitivo in the Stoff-Pavillon Moeller, also promoted networking within the design community.
IDD Cologne 2025 was an important step in further developing the trade fair portfolio for the furniture and interior design sectors in Cologne.
“With IDD Cologne, we have started a new chapter together with the industry. The innovative format brought interior design there where it lives—in the middle of the city, to the people, into the urban environment,” said Oliver Frese, chief operating officer of Koelnmesse. “The premiere impressively demonstrated the potential to be found in linking trade fairs and metropolitan areas and sustainably reinforced Cologne’s role as a furniture and design location.”
