The Interior Design Show (IDS) Toronto 2026 is returning to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre later this month with new programming that aims to elevate this year’s edition of the event.
The event, which will take place from January 22 to 25, will kick off with the IDS Party, presented by Anatolia, on January 22, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Guests are invited to join industry leaders and creative minds for an evening of DJ sets curated by Rollout Sound, drinks, and an immersive exploration of the IDS show floor.
New keynote announcements include the following.
Destinations, Not Desks: Reimagining Workplaces for a Generation That Needs a Reason to Return , taking place on January 22 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. will include Dialog’s Alison McNeil, and WZMH’s Nicola Casciato and Supreet Barhay, with moderation by Peter Sobchak, editor-in-chief of Canadian Interiors. The panel will explore how workplace design is evolving from functional space to purposeful destination, and examine culture, experience, flexibility, and the new expectations shaping tomorrow’s work environments.
Yves Béhar, founder and CEO of fuseproject, the San Francisco–based design and innovation studio, has launched over 100 early-stage ventures, including Doma Home, SNOO, TELO Trucks, and Uber, and has developed global product brands for Moooi, Samsung, Herman Miller, and L’Oréal. His work is rooted in the belief that design accelerates the adoption of new ideas, shaping products and experiences that transform how we live.
Rethinking AI’s Impact on the Business of Design will feature speakers digby’s Andrew Lane, Gensler’s Brad Burns and MillerKnoll’s Harvey Schaefer in a candid conversation on how AI is reshaping the architecture and design
industry. Industry leaders will share real-world insights into using emerging technologies not just for efficiency, but to build more agile, human-centred design practices.
Toronto Interiors will feature moderator Alison Garwood-Jones, author Catherine MacIntosh, Arancha González Bernardo and Michael Fohring of Odami, Lisa Rapoport from PLANT Architect Inc as they join in a discussion inspired by the book Toronto Interiors: Modern Residential Design by Catherine MacIntosh. This conversation will bring together influential design voices to examine Toronto’s distinctive residential landscape.
At the heart of the IDS show floor, Central Bar: Field of Interaction will debut as an immersive sculptural environment designed by designers and artists Yury Goncharov and Alina Tacmelova, with fabrication by Custom Engineered Arts.
The installation unfolds as a living landscape “where art, form, and human presence converge.” Thin vertical threads rise into airy petal-like structures, each representing fragile yet essential human connections. Individual stories intersect within the space, forming a collective experience of interaction. At its centre stands a rock-like bar, the “social rock,” a sculptural anchor with natural, irregular geometry where the fluidity of threads finds support and conversations naturally take shape.
Studio North & Prototype — Celebrating Independent Design Studio North, presented by Yorkville University, will return as a dedicated platform for independent studios, custom work, and experimental design, presented in a gallery-like setting.
Over the last 25+ years, IDS has been a platform to experience the importance of design firsthand and takes part in the larger conversation around design. This year, the event will bring together innovative products, upcoming talent and key experts in the industry.
