A multi-purpose seating collection designed by longtime HON collaborator Nils Koehn, Etch has a sleek, slim silhouette, distinctive shell, and diverse customization options. The collection introduces HON’s first-ever perforated, breathable shell, which combines a bold contemporary look with ergonomic comfort through curves and extra flex. The built-in handle makes the chair easy to move, while multiple base options and stackable frames add to its versatility across educational and office spaces.
“We wanted to create a soft, human-inspired shape that evokes an inviting quality while still retaining a lightweight, modern look. That is how the perforated shell became the signature element of the Etch collection — it adds visual interest and contributes to overall comfort. Our goal was to build something simple, functional, and striking in appearance, without overcomplicating it,” said Koehn.
Mason Lounge Chair | KFI Studios
The Mason Lounge Chair features a sculpted multi-piece shell, inspired by the rounded forms of smooth pebbles, and provides ergonomic support while maintaining a soft silhouette. Designers can upholster the chair in a single textile for a monochromatic look or combine multiple fabrics to add personality. Available with or without arms, Mason’s design allows it to adapt across a variety of spaces and styles. To complement its soft, upholstered form, Mason is offered with three base options: a solid ash wood frame for warmth and natural character, a steel sled base for a modern profile, and an aluminum four-star base for dynamic mobility with a 360-degree swivel. Each option aims to reflect a balance of design and functionality, and gives specifiers the option to tailor Mason to different environments.
“Mason gives designers freedom to make it their own. From base style to arm options to fabric combinations, every detail can be tailored to suit the feel of the space,” said Chris Smith, CEO of KFI Studios.
Hazel Guest Chair | HBF
Created for today’s work and social spaces, Hazel aims to honour HBF’s legacy while offering designers a fresh opportunity to experiment. It also embodies comfort-forward, enhanced ergonomics within a solid ash frame. Offered in five models with single fabric, dual fabric and multi-fabric options, the chair’s proportions allow for longer sit times while the upright pitch and supportive back encourage an engaged posture. Constructed from solid ash, the frame is offered in 15 finishes which showcase HBF’s deep craft and material expertise. Hazel is manufactured domestically to ensure quality and sustainability standards, and meets ANSI/BIFMA Level 3 Furniture Sustainability Standards, Third Party Certified – BIFMA Level 7.4.4, and is SCS Indoor Advantage Gold Certified.
“One of my inspirations for Hazel’s details was to embrace HBF textiles, a brand I’ve long admired. I wanted to showcase their meticulously designed patterns by thoughtfully integrating them into Hazel’s design,” said designer Alyssa Coletti. “You can choose if you want to highlight a detailed textile or keep it as a subtle surprise on the secondary surface. You can colour block or use the same textile for a textural expression or go nuts and maximize. It’s yours now.”
