Art Toronto announces exhibitors for October’s 2018 edition


Art Toronto is proud to announce the participating galleries for 2018. The 19th edition of Canada’s fair for modern and contemporary art will include 102 exhibitors from seven countries and 28 cities. The fair will be organized in four sections: MAIN, SOLO, VERGE and FOCUS.Art Toronto

Art Toronto will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from October 26‐29, 2018. The Opening Night is on October 25th and is a benefit gala for the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). 

The established MAIN section includes more than 70 premier modern and contemporary galleries from Canada, the United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Argentina, Israel and Belgium. Art Toronto is pleased to introduce GOLESTANI (Dusseldorf), Hosfelt Gallery (San Francisco) and Project Gallery (Toronto) to the fair along with its many returning galleries for 2018.

The VERGE section is dedicated to galleries that have been in business for eight years or less, presenting work by young and emerging artists made in the past five years. This year Art Toronto welcomes Projet Pangée from Montreal and DNA Gallery from London, Ontario.

The SOLO section includes 12 galleries, each presenting a highly‐curated body of work by a single artist. The fair is pleased to welcome exhibitions focusing on the work of Tyler Bright Hilton from VIVIANEART (Calgary), Louis-Philippe Côté from Galerie Simon Blais(Montreal), Dil Hildebrand from Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain (Montreal), Shawn Hunt from Macaulay & Co. Fine Art (Vancouver), Véronique La Perrière M. from Galerie D’Este (Montreal), Micah Lexier from Birch Contemporary (Toronto), Tessar Lo from Project Gallery (Toronto), Tyler Los-Jones from Jarvis Hall Gallery (Calgary), Meryl McMaster from Stephen Bulger Gallery (Toronto) & Pierre-François Ouellette art contemporain (Montreal, Toronto), Mark Puchala from Mark Christopher Gallery(Toronto), Regine Schumann from Axel Pairon Gallery (Knokke) and Ryan Sluggett from TrépanierBaer Gallery (Calgary).

Expanding upon 2017’s focus on Los Angeles, Art Toronto presents FOCUS: California for 2018, curated by Kim Nguyen, the Curator and Head of Programs at the CCA Wattis Institute, San Francisco, and Glen Helfand, Associate Professor at California College of the Arts, San Francisco, independent writer and curator based in Oakland, California. Art Toronto welcomes back Night Gallery (Los Angeles) and Royale Projects (Los Angeles) as well as brings in Chimento Contemporary (Los Angeles), Charlie James Gallery(Los Angeles), Gregory Lind Gallery (San Francisco), Casemore Kirkeby (San Francisco), CULT | Aimee Friberg Exhibitions (San Francisco), Luis De Jesus Los Angeles (Los Angeles), Electric Works (San Francisco), Et al. (San Francisco), Colpa Press (San Francisco) and Casemore Kirkeby (San Francisco).
