As global temperatures rise year after year, Toronto is warming faster than many peer cities, and heatwaves are becoming longer, more intense, and more frequent. The summer of 2025 underscored a critical shift: the season once defined by outdoor play, recreation, and celebration is now increasingly shaped by thermal discomfort and heat-related risk, changing how people use shared space.
To bring these findings into public conversation, on March 31, The Bentway and DIALOG invite the public to a free panel discussion that convenes leading experts—including landscape architect Fadi Masoud, environmental journalist and author Sam Bloch, and associate and senior urban designer at DIALOG, Dorsa Jalalian—to place the report’s ideas into dialogue.
