Back for its milestone 20th year the Interior Design Show (IDS), will take over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to showcase the brightest and boldest products, designers and concepts from all over the world. This year, the three-day design fair will embody the theme Future Forward to celebrate design that has propelled the industry forward for decades. To honour this, and IDS18’s commitment to recognizing Canadian talent, the show is excited to announce this year’s International Guests of Honour, George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg, presented by Avenue Road. The design duo extraordinaire, and Officers of the Order of Canada, will join the Globe Style Saturday speaker series on January 20th.
Yabu and Pushelberg have been in the business for over three decades, designing some of the most innovative spaces in the world. Originally meeting as students in 1972 at Ryerson University, the partnership did not blossom until many years later, when they began working with Club Monaco at home and abroad. Their resume now boasts hundreds of designs and projects, including the interiors for the Four Seasons Toronto and New York Downtown, Canada Olympic House for the Rio 2016 games, EDITION London and Miami Beach, Lane Crawford, Las Alcobas Napa Valley, Park Hyatt Bangkok, as well as products for a global roster of collaborators including Avenue Road, Lasvit, Henge, and Stellar Works among many others.

Each Yabu Pushelberg project reflects an edited approach that transcends trends to create an effortless, timeless final product. With studios in Toronto and New York, and current projects in well over a dozen countries, the pair give the same attention to detail no matter what and where they are working.
In addition to IDS18’s current star-studded speaker lineup, Yabu Pushelberg will be joined this January by established Canadian figures Tommy Smythe and Richard Ouellette. IDS Toronto will take place January 18-21. More information — including a full schedule of speakers and events — is available via the official website, linked here.
