Ideas for the future

For a second year, the Cologne branch of Material Connexion – the famous materials think-tank and archive established in New York in 1997 by George Beylerian – presented a special exhibit within Heimtextil. Titled Textiles+more, it hinted at exciting potential interior trends of tomorrow. On display were samples and information on a motley assemblage of innovative, futuristic materials and processes, including polymers, natural materials, glass and metal, as well as cement and carbon compound materials. Stimulating to the touch and teasing with surprises and unexpected effects, these products are sources of inspiration for creative, functional and innovative future interiors.
