On the occasion of its 10th anniversary last year, Wallpaper – the design and travel magazine that tracks what is globally cool – published 20 city guides. Double that number will be published this year, including the Toronto Wallpaper City Guide (out this August) and the Vancouver Wallpaper City Guide (coming in October). Compiled by the magazine’s travel experts, along with correspondents who live in the highlighted cities, the lushly illustrated guides list the best a city has to offer the design-conscious traveller – from restaurants, bars, hotels to stores, sites and landmarks. Among the locations deemed cool in T.O.: Mies van der Rohe’s Toronto-Dominion Centre, the Drake Hotel, and Kultura restaurant (see “Best of Canada,” page 35).
