Just steps from the buzz of Bloor Street in Toronto, the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville is offering guests yet another transformative experience unlike anything else – the chance to dine in heated, transparent igloos that provide warmth and comfort, while surrounded by Canada’s winter elements. On now until the end of March, the hotel’s Proof Patio has become a winter oasis, boasting a special Igloo food and drink menu, including an Ice Luge that will be used to serve up specialty cocktails.

“We pride ourselves on the one-of-a-kind experiences and activations we offer here at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville, and are always looking to push the envelope to give guests something they can’t find anywhere else,” said Shaun Pearson, Executive Assistant Manager. “Whether you’re from out of town or you’re a Toronto resident looking for a unique night out, we’ve got something you can’t find anywhere else. It’s an outdoor lounge experience not to be missed.”
The special Igloo menu was created by InterContinental’s culinary team, featuring mulled wine or warm spiced cider, your choice of Puneet’s butter chicken or mushroom and leek ragout bread bowls, followed by house-made truffles. Peller Private Reserve Ice Wine will be served with the ice luge, and cocktail specials include the IGLOOsive Wayne Gretzky 99, in partnership with Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery and Distillery.
The patio dome dining trend can be traced back to 2017, beginning on a downtown NYC rooftop and then quickly spreading all over the eastern and mid-western US with finer restaurants in Detroit, Milwaukee, Washington D.C., and even Atlanta, now boasting this highly in-demand outdoor winter dining experience.
