At the Canadian Wood Council Awards dinner last week, Levitt Goodman Architects received three 2010 Ontario Wood WORKS! awards (affectionately known as “Woodies” ). The firm’s recently completed Bridgenorth Library (in Bridgenorth, Ont.), with Blackwell Bowick providing the structural design, won the Green Building Wood Design Award. The Longhouse, a meeting room/ceremonial space, also done with the Black Bowick engineers and recently completed for Native Child and Family Services (in Toronto), received the Interior Wood Design Award. Finally, Levitt Goodman had the honor of receiving the Architect Wood Advocate Award, in recognition of the firm’s history of innovative wood design.
