For those resolving to get fit this new year, here’s a healthy dose of lean and mean design: Leucos USA brand ITRE’s Fit light. New to the North American market, Fit’s transparent blown glass diffuser is embellished with a satin finish band and a diagonal netted pattern reminiscent of wire. The suspension light can also be hung/affixed to the wall and even cleverly roped together like buoys hanging from a ship, resulting in a decorative meets industrial look. Designed by Marc Sadler, Fit’s structure is composed of steel and is available in two sizes.
Leucos USA was recently recognized for excellence by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture and Urban Studies. The organizations bestowed their 2012 Good Design award upon four out of the five entries the company submitted. The Aki by Studio Dreimann and the Leva by Massimo Iosa Ghini for ITRE as well as the Nia by Roberto Paoli for FDV Collection and the upcoming Koko’ light by Javier Mariscal for Leucos received the honor.
