Momentum X 2

Big news from Momentum Textiles on two fronts.

SYMBOL & EON

Momentum  is pleased to start 2013 with the launch of Symbol and Eon, two coordinating textiles that exude refinement and sophistication with tech-influenced edge. Symbol’s sleek construction and bold geometric pattern is complimented by Eon’s metallic sheen and rich colour palette of captivating brights and alluring neutrals. Both are suitable for corporate, university, and public space environments, among others.

Featuring a myriad of precisely executed circles accented by cutouts and inlays, Symbol balances clever details with an overall minimalist aesthetic. It is a mid-scale pattern, which allows it to be used on a wide variety of furniture including sofas, benches, guest seating and fully upholstered pieces. Constructed of 66 per cent cotton, 19 per cent  nylon, and 15 per cent polyester, it is available in nine colours ranging from saturated hues to crisp neutrals and passes 100,000 double rubs.

Eon is an understated textural solid that is at once durable and refined. A unique embossing technique creates the modern, metal-like surface with shifting light and intense dimension. Suitable as a coordinating fabric, it also has enough sophistication for use on its own. The performance textile, available in 21 colours and passing 500,000 double rubs, is constructed of 55 per cent polyurethane, 30 per cent polyester, and 15 per cent cotton.

MORE BLEACH-CLEANABLE FABRICS

Momentum has expanded its line of bleach-cleanable upholstery fabrics with six new patterns. The textiles were constructed for high-performance from the fiber up. A solution-dyed warp, in combination with post-consumer recycled polyester weft yarns with a unique chromophore structure, make the dyes more resistant to bleach. This fully integrated product offers a targeted solution for heavily-trafficked interiors. Each can be cleaned with a 3:1 water to bleach solution.

The collective colourline consists of 43 colours, diverse and vivid.  From bold, saturated colourways to tailored neutrals, the options are tailored to blend seamlessly into environments from corporate to healthcare to hospitality.

Course features vibrant tones embellished with multi-coloured dots in pattern. Jardin is an over-scale leaf motif with a hand-stamped aesthetic. As its name suggests, Wander features fresh and meandering linework. Centric is polished and precise with simple overlapping circles accented by tonal colour shift. Cite is a medium-scaled fabric that creatively mixes hue and texture for a rich effect. Dash, with its interplay of lines and rectangles, is architectural and elegant.

The fabrics are GREENGUARD Children & Schools Indoor Air Quality Certified. In an effort to reduce its carbon footprint the fabric is woven using local resources within 500 miles. The dyes are environmentally friendly, requiring less water and energy than typical dyes.  All are classified as Reduced Environmental Impact (REI) products, which is in line with Momentum Group’s goal to have 100 per cent of its standard product line classified as REI by 2017.  Beginning this year, 100 per cent of Momentum’s new product introductions will be classified as REI.
