The Toronto Design Offsite Festival is fundraising

The Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) has announced its Indiegogo fundraising campaign.

TO DO is an annual week long not-for-profit festival in January that celebrates and promotes new and innovative design, ideas, and experiences in Toronto.

From June 3 to July 5, 2013, TO DO is inviting the public to join its growing community and help spread the word. With public support, the festival can continue to be a unique platform to share ideas, and engage in a dialogue about design, with a focus on emerging practices and new work, all within a city-wide celebration that brings together makers and users. Through its Indiegogo campaign, the festival can grow to include events and programs such as film screenings, workshops, student shows, and public installations that take place year-round.

A collaborative team of designers and thinkers in Toronto produces the Toronto Design Offsite Festival, with a strong desire to connect with like-minded people, create a unique platform to share ideas, and engage in dialogue about design, with a focus on emerging practices and new work … all within a city-wide celebration. Last year alone, TO DO comprised 40 different public events and exhibitions, from design workshops to experimental installations and prototypes, and design parties and curated exhibitions. With the help of a dedicated team, the volunteer-run festival has grown organically and exponentially since its launch in 2011.

With the help of art and design lovers, peers, family and friends, TO DO  will be able reach its next phase. Working with some of Toronto’s fantastic designers, the festival has compiled a collection of perks to thank donors for their generosity, working with artists like Lana Filippone, the 2013 winner of imm Living’s ‘Not Forkchops’ design exhibition and competition, and designers such as Alissa Coe, who was part of the exhibition ‘Manufacturers + Designers Connect’, recipient of the TO DO Awards presented by Herman Miller for Best in Festival – Exhibition.
