Millennium Excellence Award awarded to Kwantlen student of interior design
Kwantlen Polytechnic University interior design student Lucas Nightingale has been awarded the Millennium Excellence Award, a scholarship valued at $10,250 from the Canada Millennium Scholarship Foundation. Nightingale was presented the award for his inspiring leadership, academic excellence and outstanding contribution in the community.
“I feel incredibly honoured to be counted among the other worthy award recipients,” said Vancouver resident Nightingale. “I am very grateful to the wonderful interior design faculty at Kwantlen who informed me about this award and encouraged me to submit my application.”
Currently in his third-year, Nightingale deeply appreciates the freedom and student-centred teaching approach at Kwantlen. “My faculty encouraged me to creatively explore and experiment with new ideas in unconventional ways. This is something I will take away from my interior design education at Kwantlen—to always explore, take risks, experiment and discover new ideas.”
Kwantlen’s interior design degree program provides four years of full-time study for students wishing to pursue professional careers related to built environments. Kwantlen’s Bachelor of Design in Interior Design is the only baccalaureate program in B.C. accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation and is recognized by the Interior Designer’s Institute of British Columbia for admission into the professional association.
