Teknion’s dual award-winners
Teknion Corporation recently announced that two of its new products – the Interpret desking system and Optos Low Profile architectural wall – received Green Good Design Awards from The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Teknion is the only contract furniture company to receive an award in the international 2013 Green Good Design competition.
“This year, the program received hundreds of submissions from over 35 countries,” reports the Green Good Design sponsors. “A jury composed of the European Centre’s International Advisory Committee selected 100 new buildings and product designs from 18 nations as a new design direction for an even greater, more heightened awareness to protect the world’s natural resources and the manufacturing and end-user’s growing concerns for a healthy ecology and human environment. Conserve, reuse, retrofit and recycle are prominent themes running across each awarded new product and building design.”
Says David Feldberg, Teknion president & CEO, “Sustainable development is part of our culture and is integral to everything we do. We design products that: promote productivity, efficiency, health and well-being; that use less raw material resources and less space within the office; and that have an extended life cycle. We thank the Green Good Design sponsors for recognizing our efforts, and for promoting sustainable design around the world for the good of all of us.”
