Mark your calendar: the IDC/IIDA Toronto Leaders Breakfast takes place on Dec. 3

The eighth annual  IDC/IIDA Toronto Leaders Breakfast will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, Room 105, on Dec. 3, 2014, from 8-10 a.m.

Peter Grimley and Lynn McGregor, co-chairs of ARIDO’s Legislative Review Committee and tireless association volunteers, are set to receive the coveted IIDA Leadership Award for their contributions to the Canadian interior design industry. Cameron Bailey, artistic director of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), will deliver a keynote address.

ALL ABOUT PETER GRIMLEY

Peter Grimley is the owner of Grimley & Associates. His unwavering dedication to the profession of interior design began after ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) was granted “Registration Act” legislation in 1984. Since then, his involvement continued by serving on various association committees, including as co-chair of ARIDO’s Legislative Review Committee with fellow honouree  Lynn McGregor. Grimley was named an ARIDO Fellow in 2000, was president of ARIDO in 2007, and of the Interior Designers of Canada Foundation for many years. He continues to work toward the ultimate goal of practice act legislation for the profession.

ALL ABOUT LYNN MCGREGOR

Lynn McGregor is the principal of McGregor Design Group. She is a passionate advocate for the importance of good design. McGregor has dedicated significant time to her professional association, ARIDO, holding such positions as co-chair of its Ethics Committee, past president, and for the past 25 years as co-chair of ARIDO’s Legislative Review Committee. She is also ARIDO’s representative on the Design Advisory Committee, and Ontario’s Building Advisory Council. McGregor was granted Fellowship status with ARIDO in 2000.A

Cameron Bailey is the artistic director of the world-renowned Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Few people understand the importance of the arts and cultural sector better than Him. Under his lead, TIFÏ continues to grow in size and significance every year.
