Cosentino expands into Canada with Toronto location, Calgary and Vancouver soon to follow

Cosentino, the global leader in natural stone, quartz, recycled and architectural surfacing, has opened its first showroom in Toronto’s Design District, marking the company’s foray into the Canadian market. The new 10,000-square-foot facility offers architecture and design professionals a state-of-the-art, interactive environment for educational and networking events, as well as a complete showcase of the latest innovative surfacing products from the Spain-based company.

While the first of its kind in Canada, the Toronto facility is the 29th North American Centre, and underscores the critical role that the Canadian market will play in the company’s overall North American expansion strategy. Cosentino master distributor, International Logistics, operates the newly opened Toronto Centre.

Cosentino plans to continue strengthening its presence in Canada throughout 2015, with two Centres slated to open in Calgary and Vancouver that Cosentino will directly operate. These new locations will complement the specialty retailers and distributors in Quebec and Montreal. Cosentino’s expansion is estimated to create approximately 45 jobs nationwide, and will increase the availability and distribution of its leading products for architects, designers, builders and homeowners including its popular natural quartz brand, Silestone, and it’s innovative indoor/outdoor offering, Dekton.

“Toronto is an innovative design hub and an essential starting point as we continue our expansion across North America,” says Eduardo Cosentino, president and CEO of Cosentino, North America. “By increasing our presence and operations through the opening of Centres across the nation, we are able to more efficiently meet the needs of our Canadian customers by offering an increased inventory, design tools and inspiration, and product experts in their local markets.”

The Toronto Centre features a fully functioning Miele kitchen, which allows for live demonstrations and interactions alongside the Centre’s comprehensive showcase of the full portfolio of Cosentino brands, including: Silestone natural quartz; ECO by Cosentino recycled surfaces; SenSa Granite; Scalea Natural Stone; MURO Mosaics; the Prexury Collection, a semi-precious stone line handmade by expert craftsmen, and Dekton, an innovative and ultra-compact surface with interior and exterior architectural applications.

The Cosentino Centre concept has been a proven and essential resource for designers and architects around the world. Intended to function as more than a showroom, Cosentino Centres are designed to support, promote, and educate architects and designers by integrating distribution facilities with product display areas, meeting spaces for designers to bring clients, classrooms for continuing education, and fully functioning kitchens and event space for demonstrations. The Centers create interactive environments where architects, designers, distributors, and fabricators are able to view the latest products and design trends, earn continuing education credits, attend expert seminars, and receive training and on new production techniques and innovations.

To meet increasing demand for its products, Cosentino opened its first North American Centre in Anaheim, CA, in 2010 and quickly followed with showrooms in Phoenix, Dallas, Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, San Diego, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Minneapolis, Cincinnati, Austin, Westchester, Seattle, Philadelphia, Houston, Boston, Denver, Long Island, and Fort Lauderdale. More Centres are set to open throughout North America in 2015.

The newly opened Toronto Cosentino Centre is located at 655 Caledonia Rd.
