Formica Canada joins local purchasing program founded by AQMAT

Formica Canada has joined the ranks of 100+ manufacturers from 8 out of 10 provinces who are participating in the Well Made Here program. Initiated by the Quebec Hardware and Building Materials Association (AQMAT) and launched on October 31, 2018, the local purchasing program showcases Canadian-made hardware and residential building materials and helps customers to identify those products sold in hardware stores and home improvement centers across the country with its logo. The ici-here.ca website makes available a large catalogue of products made in Canada and provides information on where to buy them, who to contact for construction work, and how to access promotional offers.
“Our Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu plant, in which more than 250 employees work, has been in operation for more than 60 years to produce a wide variety of Formica brand laminates and specialty products,” said Johanne Levesque, Marketing Director at Formica Canada. “This is why we are very proud to be part of the growing movement to buy locally, to support local manufacturers and stimulate our economy. The Well Made Here program allows consumers to discover quality products that can improve their living environment and are made in Canada by reliable manufacturers.”
Other manufacturers with accredited lines in this program include Bélanger Laminates, BP Canada, Cabinetsmith, Imperial Group, MURdesign, Dimplex, Venmar, Giant, JELD-Wen, J.A. Roby and Drolet.
