DesignTO Festival has announced that it will be moving forward with a “distanced and digital festival”, similar to the 2021 event, in response to the government’s recent COVID-19 protocol announcement.

The 2022 Festival is still filled with programming that viewers can experience safely online, such as the ‘DesignTO Symposium: No Such Thing as Normal’, the ‘BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration‘ event, and ‘The Un/familiar Familiar’ exhibition.

In addition to online programming, there are over 40 window installations that can be viewed safely from outdoors and on your own schedule. There will also be some in-person exhibitions that will run according to the guidelines.

“The DesignTO Festival happens online and in-person at venues across the City of Toronto. Most events and exhibitions are free, but some require a RSVP or purchased tickets. All window installations are viewable from the outdoors. COVID precautions vary per event,” says the organization.
