BuzziSpace, Belgian furniture, acoustic and lighting company, has recently launched five new acoustic lighting solutions: BuzziProb Beam, BuzziPleat, BuzziDome, BuzziHat, and BuzziJet.
BuzziSpace introduces BuzziProp Beam to the existing BuzziProp Family of decorative acoustic light fixtures that bends warm ambient light with sound control. While the BuzziProp Small is suitable for individual tables, BuzziProp Beam works well in larger settings such as meeting rooms, large collaborative tables, and reception areas. Its aerodynamic design and thick structure help trap sound waves and dampen noise in a given space.
The BuzziPleat series reinterprets ancient techniques used in fashion design, like smocking and pleating, to create large-scale, yet lightweight sculptural forms, made of sound-absorbing BuzziFelt. The BuzziPleat framework relies on tension of its own fabrication, rather than an internal support structure. Fashion has long adopted this method to create neat, yet flexible forms. Here, the application brings an organic quality to an otherwise synthetic material.
This distinctive functional light is well-suited for use above a desk or conference room table. By creating this homelike feeling, BuzziDome is fit for open-plan workplaces, hospitality settings, and break-out areas. A recessed LED light source, paired with its tailored design, accentuates the pendant’s meticulous craftsmanship while also emitting a warm, functional light. Its concave design, coupled with its acoustic foam element diffuses and absorbs sound, providing acoustic treatment for any setting.
BuzziHat, a series of high-performance lighting by Alain Gilles, is intentionally designed to feel less technical with a playful cartoon-like form. The designer set out to create a more elegant solution, which resulted in decorative “hats” designed to hang above your head.
Form follows function with BuzziJet, an intentionally simple design based on the principles of geometric acoustics. Wide in diameter, this cylindrical design allows sound waves to bounce back-and-forth within the radius of its circular body, and in turn mitigates noise. With its oversized upholstered body, BuzziJet is designed to absorb and diffuse sound, effectively combating low, mid and high frequency tones alike.
BuzziJet is considerable in size, yet appears lightweight and airy thanks to its upholstered foam core. Buzzi- Jet can be customized to complement furnishings and decor within various environments.
