Air Canada unveils new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport
Air Canada has opened its new Maple Leaf Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), marking the airline’s 28th global lounge and its third within the United States.
Located in Terminal 2, this lounge was designed in collaboration with San Francisco-based architecture firm Gensler and is the first to feature an expansive outdoor terrace affording panoramic views of aircraft and runways, accented by two vapor fireplaces by Canadian company CF + D.
Spanning 8,168 square feet and with a seating capacity of 165 (135 indoors and 30 outdoors), the lounge also provides hands-free entry through E-Gates and biometric identification. Shower facilities with heated towel racks, a VIP room for up to 10 people, and a collection of multidisciplinary art paying homage to California and Canada further enrich the space.
Paying homage to its Californian setting, the new Maple Leaf Lounge at SFO seamlessly integrates local influences into its design, decor, and culinary offerings. “We’re thrilled to bring our Maple Leaf Lounge experience to San Francisco International Airport, giving our Bay Area customers a way to enjoy Air Canada’s award-winning product and glowing hearted hospitality from the moment they arrive,” said Jacqueline Harkness, managing director, products and services at Air Canada. “It’s one more way we’re investing to become San Francisco’s favourite way to travel internationally.”
The expansion of Air Canada’s lounge network continues with this latest addition. Air Canada has reintroduced Newark Liberty International Airport to its lounge roster with the opening of the new United ClubSM location in Newark Terminal A. This unique co-location within the United Club ensures dedicated Air Canada customer service and access policies in line with Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounges.
