The Goods: Modular Sofas
Pillow Sofa | BD Barcelona
Designed by Muller Van Severen, the Pillow Sofa is a modular system of colourful, playful cushions that can be arranged in various configurations. The design’s simplicity lies in independent cushions connected by integrated bands, forming stable seating atop an easy-to-assemble tubular steel frame. Available in a colourful range of durable upholstery such as leather, velvet, and canvas, the cushions and colours can be mixed and matched to create a blend of comfort and creativity.
Perron Pillo Sofa | Knoll
Willo Perron designed this modular system to appear as a freestanding stack of oversized pillows, with deep seats intended to be sat in, not on, like a “basket of pillows,” says Perron. “I wanted the sofa to evoke surprise and emotion” in a “choose your own adventure experience.”
Grumetto | Busnelli
The Grumetto Sofa embodies sensitive and introspective design, defined by its soft, enveloping, and independent forms. Organic in its lines and versatile in use, it exudes a distinct character that invites individuality and creativity. Its modular elements—backrest, seat cushion, armrest, and base—are fully customizable with removable covers in fabric or leather, offering combinations of up to three harmonious shades. The Baydur foot supports the base, creating a seamless “island” effect. An integrated table acts as a functional link, connecting components like a chain latch.
Segall Conversational | Etel
Originally designed in 1932 by Lasar Segall, the Segall Conversationalist perfectly embraces artistry and function. With an emphasis on sculptural elegance, its clean lines and geometric shapes create a harmonious centerpiece for any contemporary living space. Designed for intimate gatherings, its ergonomic structure promotes conversation and relaxation. Crafted from ebonized wood and black leather, this modular sofa is a testament to the enduring nature of Brazilian design.
