Canadian Interiors to host free panel discussion and networking event about AI and the Metaverse
Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the Metaverse are impacting the daily routines of architects, designers, and manufacturers not only by expanding their creative horizons but also revolutionizing their narrative capabilities.
In hopes of shining light on this topic, Canadian Interiors is hosting a free panel discussion and networking event in Toronto on September 21, 2023.
At the event, attendees will have an opportunity to join a diverse group of industry professionals as they engage in a dialogue that includes multiple perspectives. The speakers will delve into compelling, real-world examples and illustrate how creative sectors are harnessing these cutting-edge technologies while also exploring their implications for the future.
The panelists at this event include Andrew Lane, Yorgos Foussias and Mark Cichy.
Lane is a co-founder of design industry-focused consultancy and technology firm, digby. He’s also a co-founder of the Interior Design Metaverse Architecture & Design (MAD) Awards and co-host of the Web3 architecture & design podcast on the SANDOW Surround podcast network, Barriers to Entry.
Foussias boasts more than 25 years of expertise spanning various markets, including hospitality, residential, commercial, mixed-use, and retail. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded groundbreaking and acclaimed projects for renowned global brands such as Banyan Tree, W Hotels, Virgin, Chanel, Samsung, Wolfgang Puck, Microsoft, and Audi. Yorgos is deeply passionate about merging extensive experience with innovation, and he remains committed to continually advancing the design process.
Cichy’s expertise lies in the professional and academic realms of parametric design, software development, and the construction and fabrication of intricate projects. Within HOK’s worldwide offices, he plays a pivotal role in guiding the design process, employing generative algorithms through software platforms that seamlessly integrate with a wide range of AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software platforms. With nearly two decades of experience in architecture, Mark harnesses the power of technology to craft highly functional spatial solutions that transcend conventional boundaries of form. He excels in transforming seemingly improbable ideas into tangible possibilities, thus creating iconic design solutions tailored to the specific needs of clients.
At the event, attendees will acquire a new, hands-on outlook on AI, the Metaverse, and other cutting-edge technologies. They will discover essential strategies that can pave the way for concrete actions to unleash the complete business potential of these innovations.
The event will take place at Black Bread + Jam, located at 36 Distillery Lane, Suite 430 in Toronto. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. with the panel discussion beginning at 5:00 p.m. A cocktail hour will follow at 6:00 p.m.
