You do great work, and your peers in the Canadian interior design industry want to see it! Canadian Interiors is proud to officially open the doors to the annual Best of Canada Awards, this country’s only design competition focusing on interior design projects and products without regard to size, budget or location. Submissions are welcome from interior designers, architects, landscape architects, decorators, crafts persons and design students.
The deadline to submit your Project or Product to the Best of Canada Awards competition will be here before you know it: submissions are due on Monday April 27th, 2026 @ 11:59 pm PST.
Every year Canadian interior design seems to be upping the ante of what is expected and what is delivered. Need proof? Take a look at some of the winners from 2025’s Best of Canada.
For example the judges, while impressed with many of the entrants, truly luxuriated in the formal details and rigour of Lantern House in Vancouver, ultimately awarding it the Project of The Year designation and placing it on the cover of the July-August 2025 issue. Jurors were impressed by the project’s radical restraint: a nine-square grid edited by a central void that pulls daylight deep into the plan and choreographs movement. Cedar screens, skylights, and board-formed concrete temper light across concrete, limewash, oak, and sandstone, balancing intimacy with openness to create a quietly rigorous, spatially rich domestic sanctuary.
In the Products category, the honour of Judges’ Pick went to SmartCurtain by Toronto-based RYSE Inc. “Designed to fit seamlessly, silently and invisibly into the home, making its presence known only when needed,” yet appreciated “for an increasingly aging population that struggles with mobility,” said judge Dylan Horvath.
